Horsetail

Horsetail

What is it?

Horsetail, or Equisetum arvense, is a bristly plant that grows near watery areas with medicinal use that dates back to ancient Greek and Roman times. The plant has been used to treat a number of ailments both internally and externally.

How does it help skin?

Horsetail is rich in minerals and has been shown to act as an antioxidant, neutralizing free radicals that can damage skin. Antioxidants soothe the skin and help restore a healthy appearance.

Did you know?

There is a waterfall in Yosemite National Park in California, USA that is named Horsetail Falls. Every year in February, there is a phenomena that occurs where it appears that molten lava is tumbling down instead of water, so aptly named Firefall.

Why did we choose it?

Horsetail has been used in other areas, like wound care, because of its natural soothing activity. While other acne ingredients may irritate skin, horsetail helps acne-prone skin without over drying.
