Bilberry
What is it?
Bilberry is a relative of the popular blueberry and is natively grown in regions of Europe and Asia. This berry has been used medicinally for centuries to help with a number of ailments, and has been incorporated into modern-day dietary supplements.
How does it help skin?
Bilberry seed oil is rich in natural fatty acids and vitamins, including stearic, oleic, linoleic and linolenic acids. These fatty acids help keep skin deeply hydrated with its emollient and moisturizing properties. It nourishes rough skin while also fortifying the skin barrier.
Did you know?
During World War II, British pilots ate jam made from bilberries, with the hopes that it could improve their night vision.
Why did we choose it?
We found women who live in the most challenging climates for dry skin and asked what they use to nourish and protect. Women in Scandinavia have turned to plants that survive harsh temperatures and winds, plants like Bilberry that have developed natural protection, to protect and nourish their skin.
